8 stages across 24 days / 23 nights. This is the flow we would book as it stands — and the version we most often adjust, because adding two nights in one place or dropping a leg entirely is usually what makes a route yours.

1. 

   Stage 1 of 8

   DAYS 1 – MAUN – PREPARATION AND ANTICIPATION

   Your journey begins in Maun, where the final touches are made before heading into Botswana’s remote interior. Supplies are gathered, vehicles prepared, and anticipation builds as the landscapes ahead promise deserts, pans, rivers, and delta waterways. A comfortable hotel stay offers a smooth transition from town to wilderness.

   Stage 2 of 8

   DAYS 2–5 – CENTRAL KALAHARI GAME RESERVE – DESERT IMMERSION

   Deep within the Central Kalahari, vast open spaces and fossil river valleys define the experience. Campsites are set beneath expansive skies, where elevated rooftop tents provide comfort and security amid true isolation. Sunrises reveal oryx and springbok moving across the plains, while evenings are marked by the distant calls of lions and hyenas. Nights here are silent, star-filled, and profoundly remote.

   DAYS 6–9 – MAKGADIKGADI & NXAI PAN – SALT FLATS AND OPEN PLAINS

   The landscape opens into immense salt pans and grassland systems, offering a striking contrast to the Kalahari. Camps are positioned to capture wide horizons and dramatic light, with rooftop tents allowing uninterrupted views over the plains. Meerkats, zebra, elephants, and seasonal birdlife move through these open spaces. Sunsets stretch endlessly, followed by nights beneath some of Botswana’s clearest skies.

   Stage 4 of 8

   DAY 10–11 – NATA & KASANE – REST AND RESET

   These stops offer a welcome pause between wilderness regions. Comfortable lodges and campsites provide space to rest, restock supplies, and enjoy a change of pace. Wildlife often wanders close even here, reminding you that nature is never far away. It is a chance to reset before entering Botswana’s most wildlife-rich river systems.

   Stage 5 of 8

   DAYS 12–13 – CHOBE NATIONAL PARK – RIVERFRONT WILDLIFE

   Along the Chobe Riverfront, wildlife density increases dramatically. Campsites are set close to the river, where elephants pass through camp and hippos grunt through the night. Rooftop tents offer an elevated perspective over floodplains and water channels, while mornings often begin with game visible directly from camp. The rhythm here is shaped by water and movement.

   Stage 6 of 8

   DAYS 14–16 – LINYANTI & SAVUTI – REMOTE AND UNTAMED

   These regions represent some of Botswana’s wildest and least visited landscapes. Campsites are unfenced and immersive, with wildlife regularly moving through camp. Predators are frequently heard at night, and mornings may reveal fresh tracks in the sand. Rooftop tents provide comfort without disconnecting from the rawness of the environment. This is an area defined by space, silence, and dramatic wildlife encounters.

   DAYS 17–21 – KHWAI & MOREMI – WETLANDS AND DIVERSITY

   Riverine forests, floodplains, and lagoons dominate this part of the journey. Campsites are often shaded by large trees and positioned near water, attracting elephants, antelope, and abundant birdlife. The combination of varied habitats makes for exceptional game viewing, while evenings bring a sense of calm as the sounds of the bush settle in around camp.

   DAYS 22–24 – OKAVANGO DELTA – PRIVATE MOBILE CAMPING

   The journey concludes with private mobile camping deep within the Okavango Delta—an experience that represents the ultimate form of safari luxury. A fully serviced, exclusive camp is set up in a remote location, accessible only to your party. Spacious walk-in tents, proper beds, and attentive staff create comfort without compromising immersion. Days are spent exploring pristine delta landscapes, while evenings are defined by candlelit dinners, fireside storytelling, and the quiet presence of water and wildlife. It is a refined yet deeply authentic ending to an extraordinary journey.

Sensible minimum

10 nights, two vehicles if you are going deep. Botswana is the least forgiving country we work in.
